Carrie GermerothMarzano Research is proud to celebrate managing senior researcher Carrie Germeroth, PhD, for being named one of the Colorado Department of Early Childhood’s Early Childhood Champion Nominees. Part of Colorado’s 150/250 Commemoration 2026, this honor recognizes the people whose outstanding service and commitment help children and families thrive across the state. Colorado describes these champions as the backbone of its early childhood system and the foundation on which young learners grow and succeed.

This recognition reflects Germeroth’s years of leadership in early childhood research, systems building, and program evaluation. At Marzano Research, she has led major initiatives focused on strengthening early learning systems, supporting workforce development, and informing policy through rigorous studies, in Colorado as well as several other states.

Her work in Colorado is part of a much longer story of partnership and impact. Marzano Research’s early childhood work in the state has spanned more than 15 years, helping lay the foundation for shared vision, statewide alignment, systems implementation, evaluation, and strategic support. That work has included projects around early learning and development guidelines, family engagement, educator competencies, early intervention, workforce studies, and universal preschool.

I’m proud to live and work in a state that values early childhood and is committed to lifting up every part of the system of support for young children and their families.”

This recognition also carries a longer arc. Early in her career, Germeroth received a “Champions for Children” award, making this moment another milestone in nearly two decades of work on behalf of young children and their families.

We are thrilled to see Germeroth’s work recognized and grateful for the expertise, care, and steady leadership she brings to Marzano Research and to the field every day.
