Melissa Fowler
Project Manager
Hello! My name is Melissa, and I am a Project Manager at Marzano Research. I help organizations turn ambitious goals into work plans that people can navigate, organize, and accomplish. My background spans project and portfolio management, educational research, assessment, program implementation, and higher education instruction. I especially enjoy bringing structure to complicated initiatives, helping teams clarify how decisions will be made, and asking the difficult questions—even when no one particularly wants to answer them.
Outside of my primary role, I teach project management, and I also direct a leadership academy for teenagers with Tourette syndrome. Although all of my roles may look different, they reflect what I care about most: helping people find clarity, recognize what they are capable of, and make meaningful progress through situations that do not come with an instruction manual.
I live in New Jersey as an empty-nester with my partner and our cats, who share our life and occasionally allow us to retain some authority over it.
When I’m not organizing something, you can often find me:
- Staying up far too late because I need to know how the book ends
- Hiking a trail with a view worth working for
- Swimming laps or finding any excuse to be near the water
- Sharing a couch with my partner and whichever cat claimed it first, streaming new shows
A few things worth knowing about me:
- I appreciate directness, curiosity, and people who are willing to change their minds when they learn something new.
- I have a soft spot for underdogs and people finding their way through difficult seasons.
- I believe humor makes nearly everything more manageable.
- I am endlessly interested in how people become who they are—and what helps them recognize that they are capable of more.
