Katie Allen
Senior Researcher
Hi! I am Katie Allen, a Senior Researcher at Marzano Research. I specialize in research, evaluation, technical assistance, and capacity building that support education systems improvement and policy implementation. Throughout my career, I have partnered with state education agencies, K-12 systems, higher education institutions, and public-sector organizations to generate evidence, strengthen organizational capacity, and inform strategic decision-making. I have worked on within a variety of topics including leadership, accountability, literacy, continuous improvement, student well-being, and have managed large, multi-state programs. I enjoy working at the intersection of research, policy, and practice, helping organizations use evidence to address complex challenges and improve outcomes for the people and communities they serve. I hold an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy and an M.P.A. from Kansas State University, and a bachelor’s in history from the University of Kansas. I serve on my local school board and am trained in the Institute of Education Sciences’ What Works Clearinghouse Group Design Standards.
