As we celebrate our 5th anniversary as a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB), we are reminded of the vital role small businesses play in driving the American economy forward. With over 33 million small businesses accounting for 99.9% of all U.S. companies, we are part of a dynamic community that employs nearly 62 million Americans—46.4% of the private sector workforce. It’s no wonder that 86% of U.S. adults recognize the positive impact small businesses have on our nation. As we reflect on our journey and look to the future, we are glad to be among these innovators and job creators.
On July 1, 2019, seasoned company leaders Danette Parsley, Joy Bell, and Jennifer Norford announced they were taking the helm as the owners of Marzano Research. This summer marks our fifth year as a WOSB, a milestone worth celebrating.
“Our journey as a woman-owned small business has been marked by resilience, creativity, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. We’re proud to celebrate five years of making a difference,” said Danette Parsley, co-owner and CEO of Marzano Research.
WOSBs represent one of the most rapidly expanding sectors within the broader small business community, and partnering with one provides clients with some distinctive advantages.
5 Reasons to Partner with a WOSB
-
Tailored solutions
Unlike larger companies with one-size-fits-all approaches, we deliver highly customized services. Our optimally sized team and streamlined structure allow us to listen and cater to each client’s unique goals.
-
Lower operational costs
As a small business, we have reduced overhead compared to many companies, which allows us to offer more value and maximize cost-effectiveness in project budgets.
-
Personal, direct communication and support
In smaller organizations, communication channels are more streamlined, enabling responsive interactions with project team leaders and team members. We pride ourselves on building meaningful partnerships with each client, ensuring efficient resolution of any questions or challenges that may arise.
-
Dedication to equitable solutions
As a women-owned company, Marzano Research is purposeful in its pursuit of equitable solutions. We are dedicated to creating fair, high-quality education systems that prioritize the well-being and success of all students, educators, and communities. We embrace diverse perspectives, understand the importance of local contexts, foster continuous learning, address systemic challenges, and make evidence-based decisions.
-
Passion for the work
When your organization is small, every employee counts. Each Marzano Research team member was chosen not only for their high-caliber knowledge and skills, but also for their passion for improving education. You can read team members’ stories on the Our Team page to explore their professional backgrounds and inspirations.
As a certified WOSB, Marzano Research brings all these strengths to our work with our clients. Paired with our combined decades of education research experience and expertise, we can promise attentive partnerships focused on creating impactful, data-informed, and sustainable education solutions.
