Sydney Mock
Research Associate

Hi! I’m Sydney Mock, a Research Associate at Marzano Research with experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods, data collection, and program evaluation and data visualization. I’ve contributed to a range of projects, including early childhood education initiatives and large-scale state-level evaluations such as the Colorado Early Childhood Stimulus Evaluations and the CIRCLE Grant Evaluation. It’s exciting to contribute to work that helps policymakers, educators, and funders make informed decisions that support equitable, research-based solutions.

Prior to joining Marzano Research, I spent six years working in early childhood education, which shaped my commitment to advancing equitable access to early care and education. My passion for early childhood development continues to drive my research interests today, particularly in exploring the intersections of education, policy, and the economic and social impacts on children, families, and providers.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in sociology and economics before completing my Master of Arts in economics, both at the University of Denver. My academic research focused on K–12 education finance as a social determinant of health.

I am originally from Northern California in the Sierra Nevada Mountains but now call the Front Range and Denver home. I love spending time exploring Denver’s many parks, but I follow my roots up to the mountains as often as I can.

What I could talk about for hours:

  • Women’s basketball
  • Reality TV

My favorite travel destinations:

  • National Parks
  • The Northern California Coast
  • Anywhere with family to visit
