Sydney Mock
Research Associate

Hi! I’m Sydney Mock, a Research Associate at Marzano Research with experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods, data collection, and program evaluation. I’ve contributed to a range of projects, including early childhood education initiatives and large-scale state-level evaluations such as the Colorado Early Childhood Stimulus Evaluations and the CIRCLE Grant Evaluation.

Prior to joining Marzano Research, I gained hands-on experience in early childhood education, working for six years in various roles that shaped my commitment to advancing equitable access to early care and education. My passion for early childhood development drives much of my research interests today, exploring the intersections of education, policy, and economic and social impacts on children, families, and providers.

I received my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Denver in sociology and economics before completing my Master of Arts in economics also at the University of Denver. My academic research focused on K–12 education finance as a social determinant of health.

I am originally from Northern California in the Sierra Nevada Mountains but now call the Front Range and Denver home. I love spending time exploring Denver’s many parks, but I follow my roots up to the mountains as often as I can.

What I could talk about for hours:

  • Structural inequality
  • Women’s basketball
  • Reality TV

My favorite travel destinations:

  • National Parks
  • The Northern California Coast
  • Anywhere with family to visit
