Pamela M. VanHorn, PhD, has served as a leadership and school improvement consultant at Marzano Research since 2021.
Pamela brings more than 40 years of experience and has served in leadership, consulting, evaluator, and educator roles for the University of Cincinnati, University of Dayton, Ohio Department of Education, Ashland University, Xavier University, and in urban, rural, and suburban school districts. She has consulted and coached in Ohio, Illinois, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Idaho, New Jersey, and California. Her experience and professional passions include leading systemic-wide school improvement efforts and coordinating a statewide leadership development project for administrators and teacher leaders in Ohio for 7 years.
Pamela has spent her career committed to bringing equity in education opportunities to students. She was named the OASSA Middle School Principal of the Year in 2004 for her efforts to bring equity to the students she served. Additionally, she has presented at numerous national and state conferences as well as facilitating leadership and coaching development sessions focused on systemic improvement processes and structures. Her research “Linking collaborative leadership to increased student achievement” was recognized as an UCEA David L Clark Scholar in 2016 and received the William Lodeman Outstanding Dissertation Award in 2017.
