Mike Dahlin, PhD.
Senior Researcher

Hello, my name is Mike Dahlin, and I’m a Senior Researcher at Marzano Research. I have 20+ years of experience as a research psychologist and data analytics expert, pursuing work dedicated to improving educational outcomes for all kids. Prior to joining Marzano Research, I worked at NWEA conducting research on federal and state accountability policy, program evaluation, and dashboard/report design. I completed my PhD in developmental psychology at Penn State University, an MS in psychology (Measurement, Evaluation, and Statistical Analysis) at Western Washington University, and a BA in Biology from Pomona College.

I grew up in a small farm town in central Washington state and have remained in the Pacific Northwest for most of my life. However, I’ve also lived in in Pennsylvania, California, and Sweden. I currently reside in Portland, OR with my wife, our two daughters, two cats and a dog. When I’m not working or playing chauffeur for my kids, I enjoy biking, hiking, writing, cooking, and music.

Always on my playlist:
