
Kerry Englert has partnered with Marzano Research as a consultant since 2016, bringing 25 years of expertise in education research. She is the president of Seneca Consulting, a small woman-owned business that provides psychometrics, program evaluation, and quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis services. Her current work includes supporting the University of Hawaiʻi in building statewide assessments for Hawaiian language immersion schools for federal and state accountability. This includes assessments for grades 3-8, as well as an innovative Hawaiian language kindergarten assessment. In these projects, she leads the psychometric team in constructing assessments that center the priorities of the Hawaiian language community while ensuring the results provide relevant and high-quality information to stakeholders. Recently, she co-authored two book chapters that offer strategies for engaging communities in assessment development to build the credibility of the measures and the results.
Kerry earned a doctorate in education research from the University of Colorado, with an emphasis on psychometrics and statistical methodology. She also holds a master’s degree in education from the University of Chicago, with an emphasis on statistics.
